Courage in critical moments
Speaking about situations that have marked his career, Francetić said that in critical moments there is little time to think – you react instinctively. Over the years, he has saved lives on two occasions and prevented what could have become a major fire in the marina.
“In those situations, you just step in to help, without thinking too much about it”, he said, stressing that experience and composure are vital when every second counts.
He also added that responsibility towards guests and their property always comes first, forming the cornerstone of everyday operations in a marina.
Recognition within the industry
In the interview, he also talked about the People – the Key to Success award, which he received at the Croatian Tourism Days. He said that while the award means a lot to him, he sees it as a tribute to all colleagues working in the sector. “It is a great honour for me, but I believe that everyone in this job give their utmost”, he said.
He stressed that his top priority is ensuring that the marina guests feel safe, welcome and at ease during their stay.
His long-standing service and dedication have been recognised not only by guests and colleagues but also in the media, where he has appeared on several occasions over the years, sharing his experience in various formats – from print and online publications to social media content. For instance, his story has been featured in a video report by the Jutarnji List newspaper, bringing his day-to-day work closer to a wider audience.
The sea as a way of life
As he points out, his connection with the sea extends well beyond working hours, and many encounters with boaters have evolved into friendships over time.
“If I were born again, I would still choose the same job”, concludes Francetić, whose life story once again underlines that people are the key to ACI’s success. More
